About our Chambre & Maison d'Hôtes
After many enjoyable holidays in France, both with and without children, we decided to move out here permanently in 2015. We are joined by Anya, our very friendly dog and our cats; Birdbank & Claude.
Our family have always had a keen interest in sporting activities, and our passion for mountains and the outdoors brought us to this little bit of paradise we now call home. We are certain that any visitors will share our love of the stunning scenery and the wide range of activities found on our doorstep.
Whether you are visiting to walk, climb, cycle, wine-taste, or discover the rich history of the Pays Cathar, you can expect a warm welcome, good food and good humour.
We look forward to meeting you.

The original house and barns were built during the late 1800s by a wealthy local family. Sometime during the 1900s, the addition, which is now the guest lounge, was added. The house passed down the generations but had been empty for about 20 years, when we purchased it in the winter of 2013. After some initial works to fix the roof and upgrade the electrical and plumbing systems, we moved in permanently in July 2014. After further renovations, we opened to guests for the first time at Easter 2015.
Why 'Le Petit Chateau'?
We don't have delusions of grandeur! When we first viewed the property, we met a very elderly gentlemen who explained that the house was owned by a very well known family in the village and that many of the locals called the house 'Le Petit Chateau' and so, 'Voila!'
It's amazing how things have changed since we purchased the property!
